at 1/12/2003 8:53:45 PM- OK, I clicked on the key ikon,
and I got a log-in version of the screen,
then I logged in, and now I see three icons:
a blue smudge.
a folder wih a document spring out of it.
a giant key.
Right now the only way to see how I'm logged in is to scroll
the the bottom of the comments and see the default value
for 'Name:'
If you could put a 'welcome dc' near these icons
if and when I'm logged in, to confirm that I'm logged in,
thout would be good.
The alt tag captions are good, and neccessary since there's
no text. I would prefer to have a succinct text option.

at 1/15/2003 6:47:20 PM- Should I be able to copy the url
http://stlbloggers.com/ping.asmx/ping?weblogname=dc&weblogurl=
from
http://stlbloggers.com/
and give it to the movable type and make this work
automatically every time I post ?
(from mtmanual_blog_config.html#item_Notify_the_following_sites_when_I_update_my_blog
In addition to weblogs.com and blo.gs, there are other services
that provide similar functionality. If you would like to ping
such services automatically, and if they support the
weblogs.com XML-RPC ping interface
(http://www.xmlrpc.com/weblogsCom), you can add the URLs for
those XML-RPC servers to the Others box. Separate the URLs with
carriage returns.)

uh, anyway, the ping function of moveable type doesn't work with the stlbloggers ping. Moveabletype, blo.gs, and weblogs.com use an XML-RPC ping interface, whereas the ping here seems to be a GET request to an asp noscript. Saddly, this makes them incompatible.. There would probably be a simple perl noscript that could interface them, or even something as simple as having lynx request the url and then quit when an update is made... i'll think about it :)

Ben, really, I think stickers--they don't have to be big; they don't have to be bumper-sized stickers. Ratbastard.org had some that were real simple and roughly 1 x 4 or 5 inches. They came in rolls; then we could pop 'em in places and people would remember and think that if they saw the sticker in the bathroom or on a wall or a window or a bulletin board or a car or something it must be a way cool thing.
Maybe even the little logo at the bottom of all the bloghorn pages--with the "powered by" and everything. Hmmmm.....

at 1/16/2003 10:34:41 AM- I cannot make internet history as the first Bloghorn paid subscriber until Bloghorn becomes world-famous. This STLBloggers gig is just a sideline for me until my fame is equal that of that guy who was the first person to join Bloggers.com who wasn't related to Evan or Jason. You know, that one guy... ;-)
Besides, perhaps Ben is looking for that thrilling fame that I'm sure comes with being on a level equal that of Evan.

Look at the news entry from Feb 21, 2002. There is a link to the movie that tens of thousands of people have watched. Maybe hundreds of thousands. I'd have to ask Yoshi to find out for sure. :D

I got the icons. I really don't have a preference, either works for me. As long as the icons have mouse over denoscriptions (which they do), that's fine.
